Three decades after its debut, the original NEXO Alpha systems continue to captivate concert and club audiences worldwide with their unmistakable power and presence. Today, we’ve drawn inspiration from that iconic ‘90s design to create Alpha+, an ultra-powerful, long-range, three-module FOH system that combines the benefits of line array source coupling with the ease of deployment typical of point source speakers.

Whether stacked on stage at a mid-sized festival, installed in a club, or placed in a theater where suspending a line array isn’t feasible, Alpha+ is still Alpha—reimagined for the modern era.

Two thousand people at an outdoor festival with a diverse lineup ranging from rock bands to dance artists. Why wait and pay for tower construction when Alpha+ can be unloaded from the truck and assembled on the ground in an instant?

And Alpha+ far surpasses a handful of line array speakers mounted on a pole above a sub. The HF dispersion control of the main M210 module doesn’t rely on the angles between the speakers but on an ingenious waveguide block that can be "unlocked" to adjust its articulation, switching from Narrow to Wide/Standard vertical coverage, while the continuous variable horizontal directivity can be fine-tuned using magnetic flanges.

With two coaxially mounted 10" horn-loaded drivers and four 3" compression HF drivers, the M210 module achieves an impressive peak of 148dB SPL and delivers exceptional clarity up to 30 meters. Additionally, its optimal height ensures excellent audience coverage when positioned above the B218 Bass and L20 Sub modules, which extend low-frequency performance down to 28Hz in a cardioid configuration, minimizing dispersion.

The original Alpha system is a legend among club managers, who know that the key to filling the dance floor is dynamic, full-range sound, rich in power and bass, delivered at high SPLs with absolute clarity.

Where a Line Array Can’t Reach

There can be many reasons why a line array can’t be installed in a particular space. Theaters are often historic buildings lacking suspension points or with roof loads insufficient to support the long line arrays needed to cover both the stalls and balconies.

With Alpha+, theaters have a hybrid source solution, as easy to install as a traditional point source system but equipped with the coupling and directivity control features typical of a line array, ensuring optimal vertical and horizontal coverage.

And while Alpha+ is an unstoppable powerhouse, this impact doesn’t come at the expense of the clarity and articulation that have made NEXO systems a familiar presence in the world’s most prestigious theaters, concert halls, and auditoriums.
